Message from Newport Beach PD Alerts
An attempted residential burglary was recently reported in the Harbor View Hills South Community.
3400 Block of Catamaran Dr. (26006346)
Occurred between approximately: 8:00 p.m. on 9/29/2026 and 6:30 a.m. on 9/30/2026
While the victims were out of town, a family member and friend were staying overnight in the home. At some point in the evening, three unknown suspects accessed the backyard of the residence, stacked up patio furniture and broke a window. The suspects fled the scene before entering the home- possibly because they heard the dog and/or the occupants of the house.
Neither of the occupants were aware of the activity in the backyard while it was occurring. The next morning, the broken window was discovered and it was determined that a burglary had been attempted. Police were contacted and responded to begin the investigation.
Loss: None.
Suspect Info: Three subjects (no further details available at this time).
